Update June 2019
On the 25th, 26th and 27th May 2019 Lechlade Collectors Club held their 5th Lechlade Annual Vintage Rally and Country Show, our 1st Rally, in Patrick Edwards lovely big fields in Langley lane Clanfield.
We had three nice sunny days, bit wet Saturday morning. There were 450 exhibits, entertainment for the children, funfair and pets’ corner and 68 trade stalls, plus 15 boots sellers on the field. Plus a selection of craft entries in the craft tent.
We organized a mini-ring, supported and guided by Andrew, with his disco PA system. This was used on Saturday by the Blue Cross Animal Centre from Burford and to help with the Fun Dog Show.
The Great Western Youth band attended on Saturday followed by the, Britannia Mini Majorettes (they will all be returning next year).
On Sunday we had a display by Wolvercote Morris Dancers; Monday in the mini-ring SN dogs of Swindon organized a Fun Dog Show. In the model tent tombola for the 3 days, run by Ann and Ron Winfield and a raffle each day, 3 sellers did a wonderful job.
The Craft Tent was also full with 16 enthusiastic crafters.
After Monday’s raffle, the presentation by Chairman Ray Pitts to the winning Exhibitors of Trophy Cups and Plates.
For the first time in my 38 years of organizing rally’s we had a big ring, for boys and girls in four sections to parade and drive round, aided and guided by commentator Tony. At ring-side were food venders and again for the first time a bar and music for people to enjoy with a pint.
Make a donations to Lechlade Lions, (Marshalling & Parking) a free table space for the weekend to 8 local charities to raise monies, offered our equipment to other Lechlade charities during the year to help raise funds for other charities.
